Since his beginnings as a musician, Octavio Hernández has developed an intense activity that has taken him to share projects with great musicians such as Chris Higgins, Aldo Caviglia, David Mengual, David Xirgu, Miguel “Pintxo” Villar, Carlos Falanga, Mariano Steinberg, Tom Warburton, Santi de la Rubia, Joan Terol, or Dani Domínguez, among others.
Thanks to his eclectic spirit , he has participated in numerous projects not far from jazz such as the bipbop with IFS-Crew, funk with Charlie Moreno Group, cuban music with Mel Semé, mestizaje with Radio Malanga, afrobeat with Alma Afrobeat Ensemble or even progressive rock with Pablo Selnick/Psicolabis.
He has performed in Canarias Heineken Jazz Festival 2015 with Charlie Moreno Group and in 2012 and 2013 Canarias Jazz Showroom of Tenerife. It was in Canarias Jazz Showroom 2013 where he presented his most recent work “Solo Monk”, based on the arrangements for guitar on the repertoire of the pianist Thelonius Monk. He also leads OH4T, Octavio Hernández Quartet with Miguel Pintxo Villar, Carlos Falanga and Giampaolo Laurentacci with whom he aims to record an album this year and also Haziram trio, together with the uruguayan veteran drummer Aldo Caviglia, one of the most important jazz drummers in Spain.
